Maps Soon

For some reason my roommates scanner isn't working so I'll put up my maps as soon as possible.

Raking Leaves, Hartford Ave. and Sheppard Ave., Milwaukee, WI

This sound I found on my walk back from the beach. Halfway through you can hear a guy from across the street take out his garbage and recycling. I got really lucky because it was late at night and their isn't a lot of traffic. I had to ask nicely... "can I please record you raking for a couple minutes for my class?". I felt like a big weirdo!

Shorewood Beach Pier, Lake Dr. and Capitol Dr., Milwaukee, WI

I tried to get a clean water sound from the beach but the waves weren't intense enough and people were trying to play frisbee around me. So... I had to climb out onto the pier with my recording equipment and risk it all!! There are two kinds of growth on the pier, Green is Grippy and Brown is Slippy! Keep your feet on the green and you'll be alright.

Bus Stops, then Leaves. N.Cambridge Ave. and Oakland Ave., Milwaukee, WI

The first great sound I found on my trek came when I decided to leave the immediate area of my starting point and I decided to get the rhythm of the bus as it stopped. It worked out well except that I had to wait another 20 minutes for the damn bus! There is also a really good door creak.

Fire Truck, Corner of Park Pl. and Oakland Ave., Milwaukee, WI

I was in the process of finding a good place to find a leaf raking sound and I happened to pick up on a firetruck. After it passed on the next block I tried to find where it was going. I ended up not finding it but I did find the beach!

Park, Oakland Ave. and E. Geneva Pl., Milwaukee, WI

I recorded this standing at the intersection of a path in a park. one part of the park's trail was covered in gravel. I was facing the trail but I picked up some of the kids and their parents on the playground behind me. I was hoping to get some birds but I ended up being more intrigued by the people and the sounds they made. I especially liked the walking on gravel and the sound of the bikes. You can also here a dog barking from a 2nd story window on Oakland... I think it was a pomeranian....?
